Should has no place in our recovery dialogue Have you noticed how the word should has a power like few other words to make you feel anxious and create resentments of those who "should" on you and from those you "should" on? We can strengthen our program and remove the damage "shoulding" creates by following these 3 simple rules:

  1. Don't should on others.
  2. Don't should on yourself.
  3. Don't let others should on you.

Should is a word designed to make others or ourselves feel bad. By living in the present, keeping our own side of the street clean and working the steps we shouldbe able to remove this dangerous word from the vocabulary of our recovery.
