Are or were you a young person in OA?
If you are abstinent and came into OA from the ages of 18 to 30, submit your story for inclusion in a pamphlet for teens.
OA is seeking stories from young people for a revised pamphlet called “To the Teen.” Stories can include any manifestation of the disease, including overeating, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and other compulsive food behaviors.
Possible topics include:
- How old are you?
- How did OA reach someone young like you and inspire you to recovery?
- How do you work your program? (You can’t be too specific here.)
- How do you use paper and face-to-face resources like books, pamphlets, and meetings?
- How do you use virtual resources like podcasts and online meetings?
- How do you use other technology in your recovery?
- Why is it harder to be young in OA?
- Why is it easier?
- What rewards has OA recovery brought you?
Email your story to info@oa.org by April 1, 2019, with the subject line “YP Story.” Submissions must include a signed release form, which can be found on the second page of the flyer here.
