It Was a Great I.D.E.A (Day)

International Day of Experiencing Abstinence, aka IDEA Day, was celebrated at Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov 20th. We had a lovely group of about 36 people, listen to how sponsorship and abstinence work hand-in-hand. A couple of speakers shared how these 2 tools enhanced one another and also shared some of the obstacles experienced in becoming involved in a “sponsor relationship.” Another member shared how her HP had inspired her with a system she called “Abstinence Buddy Connection.” This provided a venue to experience giving one’s food to another person for a week at at time. The program concluded with a time for sharing in the Ask-It-Basket format where a wonderful assortment of questions and responses provided experience, strength and hope.
